From San Francisco to Nashville to Las Vegas, Derek Jones has become the go to bass player of choice. Currently, he’s bassist for Cirque du Soleil's production of KA at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. From jazz to bluegrass to acoustic pop, Derek is the one you call to lay the bottom down.

These two albums were recorded during the same week while Derek took a vacation from Cirque du Soleil. Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band) and Paul Hanson (world renown jazz bassoonist) each had a day with Derek to play. Other days included Jenna Mammina (vocals), John R Burr (piano) and Brain (drummer with Primus, Guns n Roses). These are some of Derek’s favorite musicians to play with and the results show it.

Recorded live in the studio with no headphones or overdubs it was produced by Blue Coast Records founder, Cookie Marenco. Using the E.S.E. technique (Extended Sound Environment) highlights the musicians improvisational skills.

Run With Me showcases Derek’s genius in its subtlety and tone. The songs span from The Beach Boys' “You Still Believe in Me” to Paul Simon’s “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover”.

Dusk Till Dawn is more improvisational, with the musicians exploring and experimenting freely, making you feel as if you're in the studio with them.
